The MALDI Biotyper includes a compact Microflex mass spectrometer that rapidly acquires mass spectra of microbial proteins and peptides, while the unique Biotyper software identifies microorganisms using a reference database (containing 3100+ MO species and 9400+ strains).
Microbial identification using MALDI Biotyper is a modern, fast and cost-effective method based on mass spectrometric analysis. Any microbiology laboratory will appreciate the possibility of direct identification of the MO colony already after the initial seeding, fast and simple sample preparation, the possibility of working with positive hemocultures, urine, liquor and liquid media containing a sufficient number of microorganisms.
The total time spent on identification of 200 samples, taking into account sample preparation, is about an hour.
