OLYMP CDL has introduced a new analysis - calcitonin
Calcitonin is an indicator of calcium metabolism, and is used in the diagnosis of the thyroid gland. Calcitonin participates in the regulation of calcium metabolism, promotes the formation of bone tissue, prevents the excretion of calcium from it, inhibits the absorption of calcium in the small intestine, and accelerates its excretion by the kidneys.
The determination of calcitonin is important for the diagnosis of medullary thyroid cancer, a rather rare tumor formed from thyroid cells and producing calcitonin. It is valuable that an increase in calcitonin levels can be observed before the onset of clinical manifestations of this disease.
Only in the treatment rooms of the OLYMP CDL can the level of calcitonin in the blood be determined qualitatively and reliably!
