The Quantiferon test is designed to diagnose active and latent tuberculosis.
The Quantiferon test is recommended by the World Health Organization as the gold standard for diagnosing tuberculosis infection. Unlike skin tests (Mantoux, Diaskin), the test has a high specificity (98-100%) and sensitivity (89%).
In 78 countries around the world, this test is used as a screening study to detect tuberculosis. It is especially relevant for children with a positive Mantoux reaction, as well as for those who work and study abroad.
