Anisakiasis

Anisakiasis is a parasitic disease that develops when Anisakis larvae enter the human body. The most common sources of infection are marine fish and seafood consumed raw, lightly salted, marinated, or insufficiently cooked.

After entering the gastrointestinal tract, the larvae may penetrate the mucosal lining, causing an inflammatory response. Symptoms may appear within a few hours or several days after consuming contaminated food.

Symptoms:

abdominal pain;
nausea and vomiting;
digestive disturbances;
diarrhea;
in some cases, allergic reactions of varying severity.

Without timely diagnosis and treatment, the larvae may cause significant inflammation of the stomach or intestinal wall.

Complications:

ulceration and erosion of the gastrointestinal mucosa;
intestinal obstruction;
inflammatory changes in the intestines;
severe allergic reactions, including serious systemic manifestations.

Clonorchiasis

Clonorchiasis is a parasitic disease caused by the Chinese liver fluke (Clonorchis sinensis). Humans become infected by consuming raw, lightly salted, dried, or insufficiently cooked fish containing the parasite's larvae. After entering the body, the parasite settles in the bile ducts of the liver, where it may persist for a long period.

Symptoms:

pain or discomfort in the right upper abdomen or abdominal area;
nausea and digestive disturbances;
fever;
weakness and general malaise;
enlarged liver.

If left untreated, chronic clonorchiasis may lead to persistent inflammation of the bile ducts and impaired liver function. Therefore, individuals with risk factors or characteristic symptoms should seek medical attention promptly and undergo the necessary laboratory evaluation.
