Vulgaris ragweed, w2

Western ambrosia (Ambrosia psilostachya) is a herbaceous perennial weed native to North America and introduced to many countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Ambrosia blooms from late summer to fall; its pollen is linked to allergic rhinoconjunctivitis and asthma. Western Ambrosia shows a high level of cross-reactivity with other Ambrosia (Ambrosia species) and wormwood (Artemisia species). Ambrosia also cross-reacts with other representatives of the family of compound flowers (sunflower and pyrethrum), timothy and, possibly, pollen from other grasses and trees.

Determination of specific IgE in human blood to - Common Ambrosia (hollyleaf), w2, shows the body's reaction to this allergen.

Analysis method: ImmunoCAP method (Immunofluorescence in the solid phase)

Units of measurement: kU/l

Biomaterial for analysis: venous blood
