Antibodies to lymphocytic meningitis

Lymphocytic choriomeningitis (LCM) is a viral disease caused by the lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) from the arenavirus family. The main source of infection is rodents, mainly domestic and wild mice. Human infection occurs through inhalation of dust contaminated with secretions from infected rodents or through direct contact.

Analysis for IgG antibodies to LCMV allows for the detection of past or chronic infection, as well as the determination of immunological memory to the virus.
