Antibodies to poliovirus type 3
The test detects specific IgG antibodies to poliovirus type 3 (serotype 3), one of the three serotypes of the polio virus (Poliovirus hominis).
The presence of these antibodies indicates a past infection or lasting immunity after vaccination. They appear after 2–3 doses of IPV/OPV and persist for several years, sometimes for life.
