Yeast fungi of the genus Malassezia, m227

Fungus species belonging to the genus Malassezia are part of the normal microbome of healthy human skin. More than a dozen species have been identified, the most commonly found on healthy human skin are M. sympodialis, M. globose and M. Restricta.

There is evidence of a relationship between hypersensitivity to specific allergens of the genus Malassezia and atopic dermatitis. A similar association with allergic respiratory diseases is also assumed. It is known that more than three dozen specific allergens of Malassezia belong to the species M. furfur, M. sympodialis and M. globose. The most well-known cross-reactivity is observed with allergens of other types of fungus.

The determination of specific IgE in human blood to - Yeast fungus of the genus Malassezia, m227, shows the body's reaction to this allergen.
