Fibrinogen beta (FGB с. –455 G>A)
FGB gene encodes beta-polypeptide chain of soluble plasma protein - fibrinogen capable to convert into insoluble fibrin and form thrombus under plasma enzymes influence. Any changes in its level increase the risk of thrombosis. Determination of genetic traits has prognostic significance assessing the risk of possible pregnancy complications, stroke associated to high blood pressure.
Potential genotypes:
• G/G –fibrinogen concentration is normal
• G/A –fibrinogen concentration is moderately increased
• A/A –fibrinogen concentration is significantly increased
