Formaldehyde, k80

Formaldehyde is a chemical that can be found in almost all homes and workplaces. In addition to acting as a contact allergen, inhaling formaldehyde can worsen asthma. 

Formaldehyde is widely used in industry, i.e. in textile, paper, rubber, adhesive and cosmetic production, as well as as foams for insulation of hollow walls. Asthma-like symptoms have been reported after formaldehyde exposure. Reports of severe IgE-mediated anaphylaxis caused by sterilized formaldehyde hemodialysis equipment have been published.
