Coagulation factor VII (F VII Arg353Gln G>A)

Proconvertin or coagulation factor VII-protein, activator of blood clotting factors in vitamin K presence. Changes in factor VII structure ensures  genetic ‘resistance’ to myocardial infarction, risk of thromboembolic complications, therefore, has protective effect.

Potential genotypes:

• G/G –F7 protein activity is normal

• G/A – F7 protein activity is moderately reduced

• A/A – F7 protein activity is significantly reduced
