Sampling for microbiological examination (tube)
Microbiological studies make it possible to confirm or refute the presence of pathogens of infectious diseases in the body with a high degree of accuracy and reliability. Also, such an analysis is an effective way to determine the level of sensitivity of isolated microorganisms to antibiotics. The material for testing can be biological fluids, dense fragments of feces, smears from mucous membranes, tissue biopsies obtained through endoscopic or other invasive examinations. In order to ensure the reliability of the results obtained, microbiological research methods attach great importance to the issues of correct and timely collection of material for analysis.
Preparation for microbiological research (bacterial cultures):
- Antimicrobial drugs are excluded before taking biomaterial if they are not given for health reasons.
Morning administration of medications and manipulations associated with the use of antibiotics and antiseptics are carried out only after taking biomaterial. - Microbiological testing is not recommended if a course of antibiotic treatment is being carried out. It is advisable to carry out the examination before the course or after 4 weeks after the last dose of medication, unless otherwise recommended by the attending physician.
