Iron (Fe) is an essential (vital) trace element, a part of hemoglobin, involved in the nutrition of organs and tissues with oxygen.  It is determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), the advantage of which is high sensitivity and reliability.
