Liver examination profile is intended for complex preventive diagnostics of liver condition. This range of tests does not reflect the presence of any specific liver disease, but it allows the most accurate assessment of liver performance and the degree of severity of already known disease.

ALT, AST are intracellular enzymes that enter the bloodstream when liver cells are destroyed;

Alkaline phosphotase appears in the blood due to liver cell death or biliary tract blockage;

Alpha-amylase which elevated levels in the blood are characteristic of pancreatic diseases as well as biliary tract diseases (e.g., cholecystitis);

Gammaglutamyltransferase (GGTP) is another intracellular enzyme, the concentration of which increases in many liver pathologies, and as a result of taking drugs that negatively affect the liver;

Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is informative for the diagnosis of liver conditions as an indicator of the severity of the disease;

Total protein which one of the functions of the liver is to make new protein molecules. In liver disease, the level of protein in the blood decreases dramatically;

Albumin is one of the vital proteins which amount decreases in liver disease. The test is necessary to decide if intravenous albumin infusion is needed;

Bilirubin direct and total is a substance which metabolism is disturbed in the body in hepatic pathologies. Because of it, the so-called jaundice occurs. According to the ratio of these two indicators, you can assume the cause of jaundice. It is worth noting that jaundice of the skin appears when the concentration of bilirubin rises 2 times from the permissible norm.
