Spermogramm now available in Kokshetau

A spermogramm is an analysis of semen used to assess a man's ability to conceive a child.

The test determines:

  • Sperm concentration
  • Sperm motility
  • Ejaculate volume and viscosity
  • Presence of leukocytes and other cells in the semen

How sperm is collected:

The material is collected by the patient independently in a specially equipped room of the OLYMP CDL treatment room.

Some of the possible deviations in the results of a spermogram include:

  • Necrozoospermia: most or all of the spermatozoa in the semen are dead
  • Azoospermia: absence of spermatozoa in the ejaculate, may be caused by obstruction of the seminal ducts or impaired spermatogenesis
  • Asthenozoospermia: decreased sperm motility
  • Leukocytospermia: heightened white blood cell count, indicating an inflammatory process
  • Haematospermia: presence of blood in the semen, a possible sign of trauma or infection
  • Pyospermia: presence of pus in the semen, associated with inflammation
  • Oligospermia: a condition in which the semen contains few spermatozoa
  • Teratozoospermia: heightened number of abnormally shaped spermatozoa
