Semen analysis is a test used to assess a man's ability to conceive a child. This test evaluates the quantity and quality of semen.
Semen is a viscous whitish liquid that contains spermatozoa.Spermatozoa cells are semen cells that have a head and tail. Normally, they are mobile and strive forward. This ability of spermatozoa allows them to reach the egg inside the female body and merge with it, which leads to fertilization. The semen sample contains millions of spermatozoa and various amounts of fructose, coagulants, lubricants, and enzymes necessary for the functioning of spermatozoa and the fertilization process.
Rules of preparation:
Samples should be collected after sexual abstinence from 2 to 7 days.
During this period, it is forbidden to drink alcohol, take medications (except those prescribed by a doctor for permanent use), it is necessary to exclude exposure to elevated temperatures (in a bath / sauna, at work, with feverish conditions), and also avoid exposure to UHF.
One day before the date of delivery, it is necessary to exclude severe physical and psychological stress.
Smoking is prohibited at least three hours before delivery.
