For the first time in Kazakhstan, OLYMP CDL has implemented the Laboratory Information System with full automation of all technological processes!

To improve the quality of care for patients and doctors, OLYMP has implemented a unique Laboratory Information System for Kazakhstan, which allows full automation of all technological processes.

The implementation of the laboratory information system allowed us to:

  • to unite the fleet of automatic analyzers OLYMPUSAU400, ELECSYS 2010, AxSYM, MEK-8222 into a single network;
  • significantly improve the quality of analysis results by reducing the time from the moment of collection of biological material to the start of the analysis;
  • to reduce the time of obtaining the results of the analysis by the customer to a few seconds, to eliminate all possible errors in the interpretation of handwritten assignments, cases of loss and distortion of information;
  • clearly delineate areas of responsibility;
  • provide a tool to obtain electronically information of analysis;
  • have an archive of orders and results, medical, economic, and statistical reporting;
  • have standardized documentation;
  • create the possibility of effective control and management of the process, which will reduce the number of unjustifiably assigned tests;
  • ensure security and secrecy;
  • organize a communication channel with the information system of the institution; Increase the prestige of the institution.

The laboratory information system implemented in the OLYMP CDL also allows the installation of a remote automated workstation for the client, connected to the laboratory by modern communication channels. This provides automation of the process of assigning tests, collecting biological material, and sending, receiving, storing, and processing information.

The registration of materials and orders is carried out by a nurse, doctor, or special worker. This workstation is served by a computer with a program, with the help of which the registrar enters information about the customer (referring doctor), the material, and the content of the order (list of ordered services) into the database. At the same workstation, electronic orders are exported and electronic analysis reports from the laboratory are imported.

The program itself assigns a unique barcode number to the material and prints a set of stickers that should be used to mark the original order and the tube with the material. After registration, the material is sent to the laboratory along with the order for the analysis.

At the same time as the order and the material (or earlier), the laboratory receives an order in electronic form, which the laboratory information system quickly and accurately imports and transmits for execution to analyzers and other workstations.

When the analysis is completed, the electronic report is exported at the same time as the report is printed, which is stored in the report archive.

From now on, the analysis report will be available for manipulation in any remote workplace. It can be printed in both full and abridged form.

In addition, the laboratory information system provides a variety of statistical, economic, and medical reports, in particular on the dynamics of measurement results in tabular and graphical form.

It should also be noted that the OLYMP CDL is the first and so far the only laboratory in Kazakhstan equipped with an information system with full automation of all technological processes.
