World Cancer Day
Dear patients!
February 4 marks World Cancer Day, an annual event organised since 2005 by the "Union Internationale Contre le Cancer" (UICC) (International Union Against Cancer).
The purpose of this event is to raise public awareness of cancer, to draw attention to prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of this pathology. After all, cancer is one of the most formidable diseases of the modern world. Every year, since 2008, this day has its own motto.
The motto for 2016: "We can do it."
The message is that only through the combined efforts of all citizens, doctors and the scientific community we can reduce the incidence and consequences of cancer.
Cancer is always a difficult ordeal. It is no secret that cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. Just think: more than 14 million people are diagnosed with cancer every year.
About 14 million people find out they are sick. And possibly incurable.
Nowadays, the causes of cancer are well known and this makes it possible to detect the disease at an early stage. Know that if a cancerous tumour is detected at the beginning, successful treatment is possible.
Remember the main thing: if a cancerous tumour is detected at an early stage, the disease can still be defeated. That is why experts recommend never to neglect measures aimed at prevention and timely detection of cancer.
OLYMP CDL offers a wide range of tests for diagnosing cancerous tumours. Our laboratory analyses a wide range of oncomarkers used in modern medicine. Also, thanks to a partnership agreement with leading German laboratories, rare analyses are available for our patients, which are currently unavailable in Kazakhstan. In addition, we have special diagnostic profiles for men and women, aimed at early detection of the most frequent oncological diseases.
As cancer diagnosis and treatment methods are constantly being updated and improved, the list of tests available in our clinical diagnostic laboratory is constantly being supplemented. For example, we have recently introduced a modern ROMA test to diagnose ovaries cancer.
We can do it! It is not for nothing that this motto was chosen this year. Remember that cancer is not a judgement! And together we really can beat this disease!
