Goose (feathers), e70

The Ancer goose genus includes many wild geese with well-known domestic relatives. This group includes Anser anser (European) and species of Africa and Asia. Branta includes wild geese such as the Canada goose (Branta Canadensis) and the Cossack (primarily Branta bernicla).

Asthma, allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis can occur as a result of contact with goose feathers, epithelial cells or droppings. Allergic manifestations can manifest themselves in the form of external allergic alveolitis.

Allergenic proteins can be found in the serum, droppings and feathers of birds. Contact may occur as a result of handling birds, cleaning their cages, or exposure to organic dust carried from places where birds live.

Clinical allergy to commercial feather products is less common than is commonly believed, as a result of removing coarse dry dust, washing and drying at 125 °C.

Determination of specific IgE in human blood to - Goose (feather), e70, shows the body's reaction to this allergen.
