April 7 is the World Health Day, an annual event organized since 1950 by the World Health Organization.

From year to year, World Health Day is dedicated to global health issues and is held under different mottos.

The motto for Health Day 2016 is “Let`s beat diabetes!”

It is for a reason that the theme of diabetes was chosen this year. After all, in our time, the incidence of diabetes is gaining momentum around the world. According to WHO statistics, on our planet over 350 million people suffer from this disease, according to forecasts in 20 years this figure may grow over 2 times, and by 2030 diabetes will be among the leaders of diseases that lead to death. Today, diabetes is treatable if diagnosed in time. And most cases of the disease can be detected at an early stage. Early widespread diagnosis of diabetes mellitus is a very important issue, the solution of which will avoid many complications of this disease, leading to a fatal outcome.

That is why increasing people's access to diagnosis is one of the main goals of the World Health Organization.
