The spinach plant grows in the Middle East. Currently, spinach is widely produced all over the world because of its edible leaves. It is the only edible vegetable of the Chenopodiaceae family (spinach). There are two varieties: Savoyard (with wrinkled leaves) and semi-Savoyard (with flat leaves).
